- April 30, 2002 - Totally Hip Software's Board of Directors
is pleased to announce the appointment of two additional
senior executives. Effective immediately Stephen Simpson
will assume the role of Chairman of the Board and Chief
Executive Officer and Larry Whitehead will fill the
position of Chief Financial Officer. Both were previously
elected to the Board of Directors at the Annual General
Meeting held on February 26, 2002.
Mr. Simpson possesses extensive strategic
planning, public relations, marketing and leadership
experience. Prior to joining Totally Hip, Mr. Simpson
was retained by the top management of a wide range of
corporations focusing on the areas of strategic planning,
marketing, corporate communications, corporate identification,
public affairs and advertising. His impressive client
list includes Canaccord Capital Corp., The Angus Reid
Group (now IPSOS-Reid), Yorkton Securities, Vancouver
Port Corporation, and NorthWest Sports (Orca Bay Sports
and Entertainment). Additionally from 1978 to 1989 Mr.
Simpson held senior positions with two of Canada's largest
advertising agencies.
Mr. Whitehead has a diversified background
in banking, corporate finance and venture capital investment.
From 1994 to 2001, Mr. Whitehead was the founder and
managing partner of a technology focused limited partnership
that raised in excess of $125 million in investment
capital. Prior to that Mr. Whitehead was engaged as
an independent corporate finance consultant, and also
was with Citibank Canada for over 10 years. Mr. Whitehead
has raised significant amounts of venture capital for
technology firms and created several successful entrepreneurial
ventures. Mr. Whitehead holds a Master of Business Administration
degree conferred from the University of Washington.
